Morning Star currently has openings for the following positions:
Development Coordinator (Part-Time)
Non-Exempt Part-Time. Reports to Advancement Director.
Primary Responsibilities
- Helps the Advancement Director organize, plan, and conduct fundraising programs for specific events.
- Assists in coordinating specialized and ongoing programs to raise funds and cultivate relationships with donors.
- Makes direct solicitation calls to donors and potential donors which includes follow up calls, appeals, etc.
- Develops relationships and works collaboratively with church liaisons.
- Documents all pertinent information in Cool Focus.
- Develops relationships and partnerships with local churches as a representative from Morning Star.
- Ability to work well with staff and volunteers to assist in events.
- Ability to work independently as well as with Advancement Director and Executive Director.
- Writing skills for development of newsletters and special appeals.
Requirements
- Two years of related experience required.
- Good interpersonal skills to effectively communicate, with employees, volunteers, churches, and donors.
- Possess and demonstrate good judgment and integrity.
- Attention to detail and ability to provide appropriate documentation.
- Proficient in writing skills and Microsoft Office.
- Some weekend and evening availability, and occasional public speaking.
- Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to Morning Star mission, vision, core values, and statement of faith in the execution of position responsibilities.
- Willingness and ability to serve clients and other center constituencies in a way that honors Jesus Christ and supports and promotes Morning Star’s life-affirming ministry.
