Client Services Director
Full-Time Exempt; Reports to Executive Director
General Summary and Objectives
The client services director plans, organizes, and oversees client services programs and the services provided by the volunteer client consultants. The client services director assures that client services volunteer consultants are recruited, fully trained and supported; that all client services/programs are of the highest quality possible and consistent with the mission and vision of Morning Star Pregnancy Services (MSPS); and that clients are served with respect and according the policies and procedures of MSPS.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruits client services’ staff/volunteers, including client consultants.
- Represents the center in the community and coordinates with other staff who communicate with the community for the purpose of recruiting staff/volunteers; assists in the development of materials to recruit staff/volunteers.
- In conjunction with the Executive Director (ED), assists in recruiting/selection process to obtain a number of qualified staff/volunteers necessary to provide client services. Recommends and implements changes to process to maintain the number and quality of staff/volunteers needed.
- Assures that client services staff/volunteers are trained and equipped to provide quality client services.
- Develops and conducts client services training that includes: policies, documentation and record-keeping, programs, phone and other communication protocols, client intervention protocols (appropriate communication/interaction with clients), cultural sensitivity, Commitment of Care and Competence and other pertinent information.
- Develops and conducts continuing education and enrichment. This includes informing/educating staff/volunteers regarding relevant developments in community, government, education, changing client demographics and needs, changes in programs and policies, social service agencies affecting our comprehensive services to clients, and providing opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- Evaluates training programs and current client services for the purpose of developing and updating training programs, processes and procedures as appropriate.
- Develops, updates, and maintains training materials (including Client Services Staff/Volunteer Handbook).
- Solicits, encourages and utilizes input from other staff and external organizations, the staff/volunteer consultants and clients for the purpose of identifying needs and resources and changing training to best meet needs.
- Supervises client services staff/volunteers. In addition to recruiting and training, supervision includes monitoring, supporting, retention, discipline and maintaining an atmosphere/culture conducive to effective/loving client services and supporting MSPS mission.
- Monitors/evaluates programs and personnel for adhering to policies and procedures and quality performance, including sharing of the gospel with clients and other MSPS constituencies.
- Resolves conflicts in a Christ-like and respectful manner (with the goal of restoration/reconciliation) with/among client consultants, staff or clients.
- Schedules and administers assigned shifts.
- Plans and conducts meetings and events appropriate to inform, supports and encourages clinic staff/volunteers.
- Initiates and implements disciplinary and separation procedures in coordination with ED. The purpose of disciplinary procedures is to restore.
- Assists ED and other administrators in strategic planning, developing objectives, goals, and an action plan for MSPS, with input from client services perspective. This includes communicating financial status and funding needs.
- Works with ED to develop, implement, evaluate, and update client programs. Oversees daily client program operations and ensures quality programs and services for clients. Solicits, encourages and utilizes input from other staff and external organizations, the staff/volunteer client consultants and clients for the purpose of identifying needs and resources and changing programs/services to best meet needs.
- Collects and maintains appropriate information, records, reports related to client services (client records and client consultant information/records), and follows policies and procedures, including confidentiality. Includes developing/updating forms; collecting, recording and reviewing data; report generation and proposing recommendations based on information; information/report distribution; and suggesting changes to related policies and procedures as needed.
- Seeks to increase community awareness and increased cooperation between agencies and various community organizations in meeting the unique needs of our clients to prevent duplication of services. Promotes quality of services, facility, staff and client consultants through ministry and community functions.
- Coordinates with other administrative staff, other ministry leaders and volunteers to assure clients are treated with respect at all times and provided with excellent services (Commitment of Care and Competence). This includes assuring proper assessment of AM/AV (abortion minded/abortion vulnerable) clients.
- Demonstrates strong servant leadership by supporting and promoting harmony and a ministry of restoration/reconciliation modeled after Christ’s example; serving clients and staff/volunteers effectively and lovingly and supporting and promoting MSPS mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values.
- Consults with clients as needed.
- Performs special projects or tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Supervision/Direction
Receives periodic supervision in the form of general parameters and a periodic review of progress. Makes non-routine decisions involving the analysis of situations based on parameters established and past related experience. Plans and organizes work to meet deadlines and clients’ and client services staff/volunteers’ needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent job related experience, preferably in human resource management, nursing, social work, psychology or related service field. Experience in church or Christian ministry preferred.
- Analytical ability to participate in development of policy and procedures, formulate goals, resolve complex management situations and evaluate staff needs and quality of client service.
- Excellent oral and good written communication skills to relate to professional, medical, church and social service agencies/organizations, as well as staff/volunteers, clients and donors.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to train and supervise client staff/volunteers, work with clients and influence the general public.
- Self-starter with good judgment and integrity.
- Willingness and ability to serve clients and other MSPS constituencies including other staff, donors, vendors, etc. in a way that honors Jesus Christ and supports and promotes MSPS life-affirming ministry.
- Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to MSPS mission, vision, statement of faith, and core values in the execution of position responsibilities.
- Willingness and ability to share the gospel of Jesus Christ by word and example to encourage clients, staff and other MSPS constituencies and to contribute to an office environment conducive to supporting MSPS ministry of life.

Educational Programs Instructor
Part-Time Contractual: Up to 60 hours/month; 40-45 weeks/year. Mileage reimbursement included. Reports to Director of Educational Programs.
Position Objective
The Educational Programs Instructor is responsible for teaching middle and high school students essential life skills surrounding relationships and risk behaviors, empowering students to avoid sexual risk. The Instructor also provides educational programming to new parents at Morning Star’s Harrisburg office.
Primary Functions
Programming will be provided in-person to schools, youth organizations, and other at-risk youth populations in Dauphin and Cumberland Counties; occasional service to neighboring counties may be requested.
Training and mentoring in the (published) REAL Essentials curriculum will be provided.
Job Responsibilities
- Instruction Excellence: Prepare lesson plans and notes. Deliver dynamic, interactive, and informative instruction to students on topics related to life skills, healthy relationships, and the avoidance of risky behaviors using the REAL Essentials curriculum.
- Facilitate weekly, 1.5 hour instruction on parenting and relationship skills to client group at Harrisburg office.
- Technology Integration: Utilize technology to enhance the classroom experience. The use of PowerPoint is required.
- Audience Engagement: Connect with students of diverse backgrounds and age groups, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Feedback and Assessment: Gather feedback from staff and students.
- Adaptability: Tailor lessons as necessary to address the specific needs of the groups served.
- Professional Development and Learning: Participate in educational opportunities, workshops, seminars, conferences, curriculum updates, and community events, to learn new skills, stay current on industry trends, and gain new perspectives, as well as to improve lesson content and enhance the skill sets necessary for this position.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Teaching experience with middle and high school students in group settings with references provided.
- Excellent oral and technological skills.
- Excellent organization and adaptability in the classroom.
- Dependable and capable of following through on commitments.
- Reliable transportation is a must.

Physical Demands
This is an active teaching position. It requires moving classroom supplies and equipment and some climbing of stairs. The ability to lift and carry 25 pounds is expected.

Medical Sonographer
Part-Time; Harrisburg Medical Clinic. Reports to RDMS Pregnancy Services Manager.
Summary
Morning Star Pregnancy Services is seeking a Sonographer for its pregnancy services program. Our team is looking for individuals committed to serving the women, men and families of our community through pregnancy and sexual health services, parenting education, and practical support. As a Morning Star sonographer, you will be working with moms and dads to view their unborn child, see its beating heart, and begin the bonding process.
Responsibilities
- Performs ultrasound scans and provides education for clients and families to develop an understanding of their health condition while maintaining professional standards of care.
- Assures accurate implementation of Medical Director’s orders, maintains records, and advises Medical Director of abnormal client condition according to medical policies and procedures.
- Works in conjunction with Medical Director, nurses, staff, and volunteers to assure that clients receive the best medical, nursing, and counseling care possible.
- Reviews the patient’s Medical Records Checklist, the Consent for Performance of Medical Services form, and Release of Liability form.
- Arranges and provides patient follow-up.
- Follows established policies and procedures for handling emergencies.
- Ensures that medical equipment is properly operated and maintained.
- Participates in staff development, and training of staff/volunteers providing pregnancy medical services.
- Attends quarterly medical staff meetings.
- Participates in staff/volunteer in-services providing pregnancy medical services.
- Complies with state and professional continuing education requirements.
- Maintains annual renewal of CPR certification.
- Increases knowledge of, obstetrical and gynecological care, and current women’s health issues.
- Performs special projects as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Must possess a RDMS certification or a RN with sonography experience and function in accordance with the state licensing board of PA.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively to provide information, education and work cooperatively, with a servant heart, with volunteers, employees and clients/patients.
- Good oral and written communication skills to relate to all constituencies including volunteers, employees and clients/patients.
- Possess and demonstrate good judgment and integrity.
- Attention to detail and ability to provide appropriate documentation.
- Willingness and ability to demonstrate commitment to Morning Star’s mission, vision, and core values in the execution of position responsibilities.
- Basic knowledge of PC and willingness to learn appropriate applications required. Experience with Microsoft Office preferred.
