35,412 babies’ lives were lost to abortion in Pennsylvania in 2023* — 3,100 in our very own communities, in Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, and York counties.

As the winter air grows cold and the days shorten, we are reminded of the stark, ongoing battle for life that defines our mission here at Morning Star. The fight to protect the unborn and support vulnerable women can feel hopeless. But it is vitally important. Every one of the 3,100 lives lost to abortion in our community is precious, loved by God, and worth fighting for. And every one of their mothers deserves the opportunity to feel supported during her pregnancy so she can make an informed choice for Life.
While the world outside may have grown colder, Morning Star remains a warm and safe refuge for every woman who comes to us in need. Last year, 511 women at risk for abortion came to Morning Star and chose Life for their babies. We celebrate every one of those mothers and their babies.

This is not a simple task. Women are being fed the lie that abortion is safe and easy. They can order the abortion pill online with NO medical oversight… even BEFORE they are pregnant, to have on hand “just in case”. Educating women about Morning Star’s existence is a challenge, as our message competes with ads, apps, and social media messaging encouraging abortion as a quick answer to an unplanned pregnancy.
On top of that, Morning Star is also facing a significant increase in our expenses. As you have surely experienced in your own personal spending, costs of many items are increasing. For Morning Star, this means a greater investment not only in marketing, but also in everything from medical supplies and baby items to office supplies and building maintenance. To meet our budget goal, we need to raise $167,000 by the end of the year… and even that may not be enough.
Despite these challenges, Morning Star has continued — and will continue — to stand firm, just as we have for 53 years. Armed with a message of truth and hope, we are cutting through the noise to reach women through digital and traditional marketing and providing them with the honest, nonjudgmental answers they need. With your support, our clinics are achieving remarkable success in offering women a compassionate alternative to abortion. And we are confident that, by God’s grace and with your support, we will be able to continue and expand our Life-saving work.
In a world where it is easy to feel discouraged, we have been blessed with a front-row seat to countless stories of victory.

As 2025 is concluding, we celebrate the victories we’ve shared, but the fight is far from over. Together, we can be a powerful source of hope to the moms who come to Morning Star.

On average, it costs Morning Star $648 to provide one mom in our community with Life-affirming services. Your generous donation of $648—or $54 a month—will:
- Provide a vulnerable mother with the pregnancy medical services, support, and resources she needs to make a Life-affirming decision.
- Equip her and her partner with the knowledge and tools they need to raise their child with confidence through our Live Connected parenting classes.
- Offer essential supplies like diapers, warm clothing, and blankets.
Your gift can transform the future of a woman at risk for abortion—so that she and her baby don’t become just another statistic. For every frightened young woman who comes to Morning Star feeling hopeless, your generosity can be the warm embrace that shows her a different path. You can help her see her baby’s heartbeat for the first time, offering her a clear picture of the life within her. You can provide her with a community of support to walk with her every step of the way on her pregnancy journey.
As we reflect on the incredible victories of this past year, will you consider a special winter gift to help us continue this vital work?
With your help, we can answer the Lord’s call to be beacons of hope and demonstrate the love of Christ to those who need it most. When we hold tightly to the hope we have in Christ, we are moved to action—to acts of love and faith that change lives and build a culture of Life!

“The data published by the state does not include the total number of abortions obtained by Pennsylvania residents out of state or the number of self-managed abortions on women outside of the healthcare system. It is also unlikely that the report contains the number of mail-order abortion drugs obtained by Pennsylvania residents prescribed by licensed abortion providers in other states.” (Losier Institute: Steupert & Gaitan, 2025)
