Every day at Morning Star, we see the difference that ultrasounds make in the lives of women considering abortion. In 2022, Morning Star provided 1,329 ultrasounds and 608 at-risk women chose Life!
In the spring of 2022, Morning Star became in need of three new ultrasound machines. The Knights of Columbus Harrisburg Diocesan Chapter galvanized the efforts of over 16 Councils and Assemblies across the Diocese to raise over $84,000 for three new 4D ultrasound machines. The Chapter contributions were matched by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council in partnership with the Karpus Family Foundation to purchase the machines.
By the fall, all three existing machines were replaced with the brand new 4D ultrasound machines at Morning Star’s clinics. 4D ultrasounds add the dimension of time—a live video of the baby moving: stretching, sucking their thumb, closing their eyes, etc. This fourth dimension further shows a mom considering abortion the reality of the life growing within.
