Thank you to the event sponsors, runners and walkers, and donors who participated in Morning Star’s 2023 Shooting Star 5K Run and Walk for Life on September 16, 2023, at Harrisburg’s City Island! Together, we came together to walk and run for HER and make a Life-saving impact on Central PA.
Record Attendance!
With 48 teams and over 500 registered runners and walkers, the 2023 Shooting Star 5K Run and Walk for Life was our biggest ever! A record 150 runners crossed the finish line, and our walkers stretched across the entire Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge from City Island and onto Front Street.

It costs Morning Star $625 to provide our no-cost services to one mom in our community! Our sponsors, participants and donors came together to raise over $105,000 to help 168 moms, providing them with Life-affirming services including confidential counseling, pregnancy testing and ultrasounds, STD testing and treatment, relationship and parenting education, baby supplies and other support.
